The Southwest Initiative Foundation facilitates economic and social growth by developing and challenging leaders to build on the region’s assets, including our strong entrepreneurial spirit. Southwest Minnesota is a great place to start a business, but understanding the U.S. business system can be difficult, especially for the region’s increasingly diverse population. In 2007, the Southwest Initiative Foundation, consultant Adolfo Avila, Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce and area Latino business owners formed a Latino Business Group to support the thriving diverse businesses that revitalized downtown Worthington.
