Project Overview: The MEECC is sponsoring a free book a month program for children of the Mesabi East School District ages birth to five. The MEECC maintains a database of births and names of children ages 0 to five, along with the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, sends a book each month to each child enrolled in the program. The books are pre-selected to highlight issues related to the child's age, for example, sharing, potty, friends, animals, and colors and the book is addressed and packaged to each child at his or her home. Funding for the project is made possible through the MEECC from various local champions who have donated time or resources. The approximate cost is $27 per year per child.
